Spring in my hometown is marked by the arrival of cherry blossoms. A beautiful burst of color that transforms the spaces they inhabit. Their short stay makes their presence all the more exciting as their blossoms fall into a spring snow.
I marked this special occasion, their arrival and quick departure with gold leaf and layers of painted flowers against ink drawings on wood burned branches.
