Forest Embroidery
Handmade Paper, Hand Sewing, & Watercolor | 30” X 22”
Cut shapes and hand sewn textures make up this reconstructed forest edge. The interlocking branches reflect complex relationships that transform as they interact. I began this piece by sewing together contrasting paper shapes. Then, built out the forest edge using ink, watercolor, paper collage, and embroidered botanical elements.
