I was drawn to the turquoise waters of Lake Michigan during an Artist in Residence at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The blue hues dancing in the sunlight, and the contrasts in the sand textures as the waves pushed and pulled the shoreline captured my attention. I built layers of rolling waves by hand sewing fabric, paper, and cellophane. The surrounding landscape was created with watercolor.
