This piece was created after visiting Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. I was inspired by the use of man-made sculptural forms to support growth. This whimsical and expansive garden combines architectural design with the artistic processes of nature. It creates life support systems for wildlife within an urban context.
I created this artwork using a wood burner to incise leaf patterns and trees into the wooden panel. Botanical elements were layered with ink, paper collage, and watercolor.
